I have a theory that these three types of people can be distinguished as follows.
You give them charity
Master: hates you for it
Slave: hates you for it
Free man: loves you for it
They give you charity
Master: hates you for it
Slave: loves you for it
Free man: loves you for it
So a person’s disposition on these axes can easily be sensed by socially smart people over many interactions.
Rather than being strict categories, I think we should view these as relatively strong or weak appetites (drives) that exist within everyone. Everyone likes power (more or less), everyone likes to follow a magnetic personality (more or less), and everyone likes freedom (more or less). However, the differences are large enough in most cases that categories are still effective descriptions.
Too ugly to bear close examination.
r delenda est.
Unfortunate. To say that we live in a fallen world doesn’t really catch the blood and soil of it.
Very synthetic categorization. I like it.
I have some categorizations of mine.
-worker — slaves
-manipulator — masters
-observer — freemen
-predator — masters type 1
-selfish — slaves
-parasitic — masters type 2
-mutualistic — freemen — based on evolutionary/moral strategies
I like this.
