Sexual degeneracy and Overwatch Theory

There’s a trend in American Christianity so pedestrian that even evangelicals have noticed it. Kids who grow up in church start having sex in their late teens, often becoming complete degenerates in college, and suddenly discover that they are freethinkers with no need for organized religion (and anyway, fuck you dad). Eventually they tire of verbose, academic nihilism and become interested in more mystical religionsspiritualities like Yoga pants and Veganism that seem less judgmental of free love unbridled by the responsibilities of childbirth. But the joke doesn’t end there for those blessed with a black sense of humor, because somewhere along the way these eminently spiritual sexual degenerates acquire a preening moral righteousness that would make Lucifer blush.

The particulars connecting sexuality and religion are a mystery to me, but it seems they are intimate and inextricable (analogous perhaps to the identity of man and wife). This is a fact that did not escape Jung.

The people of this age had grown ripe for identifica-
tion with the Aoyos (word) “become flesh,” for the
founding of a new fellowship, united by one idea, 32 in the
name of which people could love each other and call
each other brothers. 33 The old vague idea of a ^eair^
(Messiah), of a mediator in whose name new ways of
love would be created, became a fact, and with that hu-
manity made an immense step forward. This had not
been brought about by a speculative, completely sophisti-
cated philosophy, but by an elementary need in the mass of
people vegetating in spiritual darkness. The profoundest
necessities had evidently driven them towards that, since
humanity did not thrive in a state of dissoluteness. 34 The
meaning of those cults I speak of Christianity and
Mithracism is clear; it is a moral restraint of animal
impulses. 35 The dynamic appearance of both religions
betrays something of that enormous feeling of redemp-
tion which animated the first disciples and which we to-
day scarcely know how to appreciate, for these old truths
are empty to us. Most certainly we should still under-
stand it, had our customs even a breath of ancient brutal-
ity, for we can hardly realize in this day the whirlwinds
of the unchained libido which roared through the ancient
Rome of the Caesars. The civilized man of the present
day seems very far removed from that. He has become
merely neurotic. So for us the necessities which brought
forth Christianity have actually been lost, since we no
longer understand their meaning. We do not know
against what it had to protect us. 36 For enlightened peo-
ple, the so-called religiousness has already approached
very close to a neurosis. In the past two thousand years
Christianity has done its work and has erected barriers
of repression, which protect us from the sight of our
own ” sinfulness.” The elementary emotions of the
libido have come to be unknown to us, for they are car-
ried on in the unconscious; therefore, the belief which
combats them has become hollow and empty. Let who-
ever does not believe that a mask covers our religion, ob-
tain an impression for himself from the appearance of
our modern churches, from which style and art have long
since fled.

Carl Jung
Psychology of the Unconscious

In this vein, there is a culture war happening within the heart of every person raised with the Christian worldview. We say the human heart’s wickedness must be repressed and its energy diverted to familial and communal responsibilities, but this attitude cannot survive a philosophy of moral liberation. As Koanic said, “Atheism is the intersection of people arrogant enough to think they’re better than God and stupid enough to think they can prove a negative.” And so atheists curse and diminish God because they were followers of Bacchus first, and only nihilism would give them rein to worship freely. Little do they know that for all our willful talk, we are merely chess pieces in the greater Game and the Last Man’s rebellious ignorance was prophesied.

Eternity
What will happen when I die? “Nothing” -> loss of existence -> existentialism
Morality
What’s the meaning of life? “Nothing” -> loss of essence -> edenism
Accountability
How should I conduct myself? “Doesn’t matter” -> loss of conscience -> solipsism
Charity
Am I loved? “No” -> loss of beneficence -> pragmatism

The human heart will not abide a vacuum. But this was part of the master plan to replace these components with materialist alternatives.

Eternity -> Utopianism
Morality -> Utilitarianism
Accountability -> Totalitarianism
Charity -> Socialism

Culture War, part 1
Addendum to culture war, part 1

Camille Paglia turned me on to a similar phenomenon that destroyed the brilliance of intellectuals who used psychedelic drugs in the 60s and 70s, which produced a narcissism of the mind in the same way sexual hedonism produces narcissism in the heart.

Is there anyone left writing serious books?

I’m trying to think who has written a serious book I’m interested in right now. Listen, there’s no one I would say, “Oh, so-and-so’s book is coming.” What? They’re dead. The people who I admire are long dead.

Unfortunately, it’s a terrible destruction. My work looks very strange and idiosyncratic because I’m alone. I’m alone and all the people who should have been writing interesting, quirky books, as I do, are dead or their brains were destroyed by LSD.

It’s one or the other. I knew so many, to me, brilliant minds in graduate school and early in my teaching career at Bennington College, really brilliant minds. I had great hopes for them and for what they would do. Then they couldn’t get anything done. For whatever reason, they couldn’t. They didn’t have the — I don’t know what. They didn’t have the resilience to continue against obstacles.

Camille Paglia
Conversations with Tyler

Something I’ve noticed in the working world and academia is an instantaneous bonhomie between degenerates, as if they can smell it on each other. It’s the immediate rapport of men who’ve seen war, turned up on their heads so that R-selected phenotypes see each other and think “here’s a fellow traveler with the right perspective”. I believe this is the lifeblood which drives degenerate brains upward into the bowels of Overwatch. More than that, I expect that ritualistic initiations into debauchery from fraternal hazing all the way up to the infamous Epstein Express have merely industrialized this process of inducting infidelity into ever-deepening circles of the infernal conspiracy.

This problem deserves to be more thoroughly dis-
cussed. As a concrete example, let us take the history of
the pious Abbe Oegger which Anatole France has com-
municated to us. 39 This priest was a hypercritical man,
and much given to phantasies, especially in regard to
one question, viz., the fate of Judas; whether he was
really damned, as the teaching of the church asserts, to
everlasting punishment, or whether God had pardoned
him after all. Oegger sided with the intelligent point of
view that God, in his all-wisdom, had chosen Judas as
an instrument, in order to bring about the highest point
of the work of redemption by Christ. 40 This necessary
instrument, without the help of which the human race
would not have been a sharer in salvation, could not
possibly be damned by the all-good God. In order to
put an end to his doubts, Oegger went one night to the
church, and made supplication for a sign that Judas was
saved. Then he felt a heavenly touch upon his shoulder.
Following this, Oegger told the Archbishop of his reso-
lution to go out into the world to preach God’s unending
mercy.

Here we have a richly developed phantasy system be-
fore us. It is concerned with the subtle and perpetually
undecided question as to whether the legendary figure of
Judas is damned or not. The Judas legend is, in itself,
mythical material, viz., the malicious betrayal of a hero.
I recall Siegfried and Hagen, Balder and Loki. Siegfried
and Balder were murdered by a faithless traitor from
among their closest associates. This myth is moving and
tragic it is not honorable battle which kills the noble,
but evil treachery. It is, too, an occurrence which is his-
torical over and over again. One thinks of Caesar and
Brutus. Since the myth of such a deed is very old, and
still the subject of teaching and repetition, it is the
expression of a psychological fact, that envy does not
allow humanity to sleep, and that all of us carry, in a
hidden recess of our heart, a deadly wish towards the
hero. This rule can be applied generally to mythical
tradition. It does not set forth any account of the old
events, but rather acts in such a way that it always reveals
a thought common to humanity, and once more rejuve-
nated. Thus, for example, the lives and deeds of the
founders of old religions are the purest condensations
of typical, contemporaneous myths, behind which the
individual figure entirely disappears. 41

But why does our pious Abbe torment himself with the
old Judas legend ? He first went into the world to preach
the gospel of mercy, and then, after some time, he
separated from the Catholic church and became a Sweden-
borgian. Now we understand his Judas phantasy. He
was the Judas who betrayed his Lord. Therefore, first
of all, he had to make sure of the divine mercy, in order
to be Judas in peace.

This case throws a light upon the mechanism of the
phantasies in general. The known, conscious phantasy
may be of mythical or other material; it is not to be taken
seriously as such, for it has an indirect meaning. If we
take it, however, as important per se, then the thing is
not understandable, and makes one despair of the effi-
ciency of the mind. But we saw, in the case of Abbe
Oegger, that his doubts and his hopes did not turn upon
the historical problem of Judas, but upon his own per-
sonality, which wished to win a way to freedom for itself
through the solution of the Judas problem.

Carl Jung
Psychology of the Unconscious

And so we observe that before Ophiuchus* decided he was a freethinking Time Lord with a divine calling to tikkun the olam, he was sucking off baby penises.

So, you’re saying that progressive SWPLs turn to their earthly institution of choice to remove the nagging thought of something higher and the responsibility that results, but still take up some form of ritualism to make up for their degeneracy? Were they autistes, they wouldn’t have any of this mentalistic self-reference and guilt to begin with. They will always have something greater than themselves to follow and make amends to. It’s just another version of a narcissistic fundie praying his alcoholism and domestic violence away. Self-delusion and compartmentalization are disgusting.

      >So, you’re saying that progressive SWPLs turn to their earthly institution of choice to remove the nagging thought of something higher and the responsibility that results,

They turn to nihilism to remove that nagging thought, then they turn to earthly institutions to rediscover a sense of purpose and meaning.

      >but still take up some form of ritualism to make up for their degeneracy?

They take up virtue signalling to make up for the degeneracy. The ritualism is a symptom of neurosis.

      >Were they autistes, they wouldn’t have any of this mentalistic self-reference and guilt to begin with.

      I didn’t understand that.

      >They will always have something greater than themselves to follow and make amends to.

Yup, that was Jung’s most important insight.

      >It’s just another version of a narcissistic fundie praying his alcoholism and domestic violence away.

      I don’t think that’s a good comparison.

      >Self-delusion and compartmentalization are disgusting.

It’s the human condition. I don’t recommend throwing stones.

        >I didn’t understand that.

From a materialistic neuroscience point of view religiosity can be explained as hyperactive mentalistic thought. Low in autistics, varying between the extremes in neurotypicals and high in psychotics. Not necessarily all spiritual phenomena is real. Were the waking spiders real? What I meant is that neurotypicals always seem to simulate a kind of “mentalistic other” and keep a mental “metaphysical checkbook” related to it. These two concepts have heavy magical thinking elements that leak into thinking and behavior. Religion is just one thing to project this to, but it could as well be virtue signaling or veganism. This is especially pronounced in hypersocial Fe-type personalities. This is also what I meant with the “something greater” and “narcissistic fundie” parts. It’s silly, dysfunctional and not like the religiousity of you and some of your commenters.

        Sorry if I’m annoying.

I’ve noticed this as well. It’s like some secret handshake followed by disgusting grooming and favouritism (ref. On Melon Psychology). This seems like a subtype of the more common phenomenon where similar people (mappers, redpillers, sociopaths, thals…) recognize each other almost instantly. That could be an easy and handy post.

    • Pseudorandom Bypasser says:

Formally, it seems like a combination of Gervais Sociopathy/Capability to abstract (Plato’s cave/things aren’t what they seem/having the necessary mental categories for naming things and reasoning about them) plus a more intellectual/strategic/technical theory of mind. Basically low Agreeableness and possibly also negative affectivity.

      #EWposting

      • Pseudorandom Bypasser says:

But as we know, sociopaths fake high Agreeableness (“mask of sanity”), appearing as the likeable popular people. For altruistic ex-cavers it is known as hiding one’s powerlevel. PSL legend mrz has disambiguated these pretty well:

        https://lookism.net/Thread-No-one-here-is-a-sociopath?pid=2669135#pid2669135
        https://lookism.net/Thread-No-one-here-is-a-sociopath?pid=2669161#pid2669161
        https://lookism.net/Thread-No-one-here-is-a-sociopath?pid=2669186#pid2669186

Sociopaths seemingly have the same default mode network predicated morality and affection as neurotypicals do, but they can simultaneously activate their task positive networks with their default mode networks, and they are callous and self serving in their task positive predicated metacognition. This gives them a mask of empathy that obfuscates their callous metacognition.

Conversely, autists have a mask of callousness that obfuscates their highly moral metacognition, due to the fact that they remain in task positive network rather than activating default mode network. Essentially, although they lack the emotional social stage four morality of neurotypicals (which again was responsible for the holocaust, terrorism, and so forth) , and have callous affect, they have a logically sound and vastly superior form of metacognitive morality that is masked by this.

Neurotypicals have a similar relationship with schizophrenics, not involving morality but rather sanity. Schizophrenics stay in their default mode networks and present with psychosis, however neurotypicals toggle back and forth between the two networks, which gives them a mask of sanity while they are toggled into their task positive network, but a very precarious form of sanity that collapses into psychosis when they toggle into their default mode network and shut their rationality down, as they do in socially convergent patterns.

Autists and sociopaths are the only two with persistent activation of the task positive network, and are indeed the only two with persistent rationality, it’s just the autists have decreased affection with moral rationality, and the sociopaths have intact affection which masks their immoral self serving rationality.

        • Tentative hypothesis: learning to toggle between the networks is a trainable skill. My “follow the mission!” koan would be (tentatively) an example of switching from default to task via en energized command-word. Ie out of ego / psychosis mode and into “get things done” mode. But I’m nowhere near epistemic certainty on this. However, “switching between brain networks as a skill” is a potentially awesomely rich new area of productivity and mindset, so I’ll put it out there.

I think meditation is the key skill here, although koans are also a method for forcibly redirecting the flow of the psyche’s mental energy.

This describes me quite well, but actual spergs instinctively take it much farther. They subtlely express a kind of moral legalism or moral literalism, which, in a modern context, acts like a handicap.

Do neurotypicals do this at will, or do they merely respond instinctively to social cues? To me, the ability to do this at will sounds like potential brilliance; the inability to control it sounds like mental illness or insanity.

            • The trick is to not think “gotta clean my entire room, ugh” but rather activate problem-solving. “Hmm, I can get rid of that stack of papers over there, then I’ll take a trash bag and dump all the crud over there, then I’ll put those boxes into the cupboard”. Do this for 15 mins, and get to “good enough”, not to “perfect”, and voila, your brain is now in task mode.

Many psychos have the same thing- though its called “Rational morality”.

Cognitive empathy(increased in most introverts)+ decreased affectivity because of both biology and habit+ low sense of self worth= autist.

Increase self-worth(on axis of self esteem instead of self forgiveness which is much healthier), affectivity(positive only), and use cog empathy to get what you want out of ppl (another winner effect) and you get a sociopath.

Anyone high enough in any dominance hierarchy will see a major blunting of their empathy- its just what your brain does and it is a necessary to function at a high level where you make decisions that get ppl killed. Of course, ppl with a really hardcore addiction to power can do fuccckkkeeeddd shit just for the neurochemicals.
