How the Alt-Right Uses Social Science to Make Racism Respectable
It’s a strategy long in the making.

… These new white supremacists are coming not with tiki torches but with reasoned arguments, buttressed by facts and figures, to make palatable racist ideas that many people, deep down, have always felt were true. …

Steve Sailer says “No comment“. Since this is a spergy blog, I’ll make some comment.
iSteve is highlighting this as a case of quite shameless hypocrisy, where a brown guy is discouraging white people from engaging in his (presumably lifelong) profession. As Mike Enoch explained in his excellent lecture on engaging bad faith rhetoricians, demonstrating hypocrisy is a rhetorical killshot when your audience is high-functioning white people. Guilt is the difference between belief and action, so if someone is prone to feel guilt you can direct their attention to this difference. Modern America is a shame culture wearing the skin of the guilt culture it murdered, but there are still remnants of the old culture that can be claimed before the fences go up (note to self: invest in whoever makes low-cost walls for subdivisions).
There’s probably a strong undercurrent of self-protection as well, because Muhammad’s lifestyle depends on the dominant narrative remaining dominant, which says that recent nonwhite immigrants should get cushy sinecures complaining about injustices done to other people’s ancestors.
When you’re addressing low-functioning 2nd-worlders, the killshot is identity. I.e. “You’re Jewish, aren’t you?” “You can say that because you’re black, why can’t I say that?” “Yeah, but that’s because you care more than Mexicans. I care more about Americans.” Etc. This is because a 2nd-worlder’s unspoken assumption is that everyone is advocating for their phenotype. Arguments in the 3rd world are a shouting match where both sides are sizing each other up for a violent raid. If you’re outnumbered, you have to shout loud enough that they won’t have the guts to charge, but nobody in an atomized society wants to charge an enemy that isn’t already routing. One could come by serious harm! In Africa, no one tends the wounds of an unconscious friend (although those pesky Christians might), so even minor wounds can become life-threatening from infection.
