Got to 6:56, when Boneflour couldn’t think of anything useful to say in response to your Gulag story. Sad, but it made me chuckle a bit.

I would have said: that’s why we need Jehovah and his Laws and his saving grace, but hey, I’m a Christian, these truths are obvious to me.

Out of curiosity, as I won’t listen to any more of it, does Jehovah or Jesus or Christian faith crop up at any point in the rest of the clip? If so, can you please provide the time-stamp for that.

    • Aeoli Pera says:

      Literally the very next minute.

        >’Belief systems are not all there is to a person. Problem in the West, that’s a real criticism of Protestantism, that what you believe matters, what you do, doesn’t, so you can do whatever the f*** you want.’

I think you’re referring to Churchians, rather than Protestants there.

Then you appear to side with Catholics on works v faith, which (correct me if I’m wrong) is an entirely separate issue to antinomianism versus following God’s laws and commands (i.e not doing whatever you want).

Catholics believe you can earn salvation and become more holy and righteous through works, whereas we believe it’s entirely the undeserved grace of God, and nothing to do with our own merit. That debate is unrelated to the law v antinomianism debate. It’s not really clear to me what you’re getting at, so I doubt your atheist friend really had any clue. Maybe you should encourage him to read the bible rather than web comics (aren’t they for kids)? Oh, I forgot, you only think 5% of the bible is useful.

I was hoping for some comment on how Christian faith and (for example) commands to love thy neighbour, and not murder, is the only thing that prevents the gulag version of humanity you described.

6:46 to 6:54 is funnier each time I listen to it though.

TTs really make it obvious why the Thal genocides happened, as they were all probably sat around chatting for shit and giggles as their women were carried away: ‘See that’s the problem with sapes, they think they can do whatever they want, ouch, one of them just stabbed me through the heart, urgh, now I won’t be able to use my deal-making skills with them to negotiate the terms of our surrender’.

        Sad.

          >Oh, I forgot, you only think 5% of the bible is useful.

Take that back or you’re banned.

          You have three days.

          • Sal says:

Catholicism does not say that we deserve Redemption and Salvation. We are born with Original Sin and we are very fortunate Our Lord and Savior Saved us from bondage, saved us from satan’s chains. We are born with Original Sin and we are NOT that wonderful that we deserve Christ.

Christianity is basically stopping what you’re doing and holding Vigil for Him on Holy Thursday and on Holy Saturday, and feeling remorse on Good Friday and having a heart for His suffering, for He was tortured and crucified — just because He gave us The Blessed Sacrament and Saved us through His Body and Blood. Christianity is having a heart for His suffering and feeling remorse for His suffering.

Read “Imitation of Christ” by Thomas `a Kempis for the true and real Catholic viewpoint. The novus ordo viewpoint I don’t know. The novus ordo church is an Ape of the REAL CHURCH.

In the meantime, because we are born with Original Sin and are NOT that wonderful and we are not deserving , “Hear us O Lord and have Mercy, because we have sinned against Thee” :

          >Do you accept the Bible as a set of instructions for life and society, or not?

          >No, I don’t.

Is it less than 5% you think is useful, I guess zero based on your comment above?

I see that when you mention the fair criticism of Protestantism for having faith but not doing what you’re supposed to, you are thinking of yourself, for you do not accept the bible as a set of instructions for your life, or for society. Without instructions, it follows you feel it is of no use, just a book to read, oh, and you’re saved.

I hope and pray you find your way back to the narrow path from wherever you are, with your atheist friends.

Congratulations, you’ve joined such esteemed company as Akuma, Doompony, and the red jew cow guy.

I’d warn you about the various heresies you’re attempting to spread except that I know they will remain mere self-expression so long as you refuse to show love for anyone you deem imperfect.

You’re 100% Koanic’s problem now as far as I’m concerned.

Another fine episode gentlemen. One train isn’t fun, but a lot of trains in a scenic built and regulated world is, a gun isn’t fun but war can be fun, IF… some items can only max out in fun-ness in areas which are forbidden and generally bad. You can have level 10 train fun but not level 10 gun fun, then you got to hell.

Maybe devote one section to one section of GUToW? I didn’t register that thingamajing process tbqh.

    • bicebicebice says:

also get it out of their system when they are kids, the stick beating and rock throwing. I did that and my friends and thats why we are not thugmugs today. It can even be as banal as Getting Bored of something done for a long time.

      • Boneflour says:

I think it goes stick fighting, then FUCK YOU DAD, then “wow, I sure was a wild one, heh heh” in that order or so. Stick fighting is good, but you can’t stay there or become weeaboo. FUCK YOU DAD not so fun, and if you stay there you become female (literally in Current Year). But got to go through there to get to here, more or less.
