I think female k selection still exists, we just don’t see it…It’s also possible that K selection females are also just going with the flow of modern society and are slowly feeling the pain of lying to themselves.

Well yes, regardless of the rest that’s basically a given. Generally K-selected individuals have higher individual quality but this quality will be degraded by maladaptivity in an R-selected environment. The major difference between K females and males is that for females, it’s often sufficient to be born with high quality, whereas a male has to express his quality through achievement and sociosexual maladaptation (where status is accorded by fast life history values) tends to handicap this expression. Recall:
Both slow-LH and fast-LH persons display a number of behaviors that may be either adaptive or maladaptive in different contexts. Specifically, slow-LH individuals tended to behave in a manner that was considerate, kind, hardworking, and reliable but also socially awkward, insecure, and overcontrolling. Fast-LH individuals came across as talkative, socially skilled, dominate, and charming but also unpredictable, hostile, manipulative, and impulsive. These results are consistent with the evolutionary interpretation of LH strategies as being adapted to systematically different environments, rather than better or worse approaches to reproductive fitness overall.
If male k-selection is any indicator, then female k-selection has gone from strongly attenuated (by the environment) to effectively nonexistent in the last 50 years. However, one notes that higher-quality R females will still ape K social naivete (and thus presumed sexual innocence) in order to signal high marital fidelity, hence the “awkward nerdy girl” trope in both male and female porn.
