Another strong possibility is that hybrid cro magnon picked up a taste for milk and mammoth and became the melonboon a relatively short time ago.

I think the Cro Magnon catching up to Melonhead through mammoth and milk is more likely. There’s a lot of smart rednecks out there who are just very humble people.
This may or may not be pertinent, but I saw a documentary years ago about how the remains of red haired giants were found in a cave near Fallon, Nevada. They are recent, as in post Columbian. No one can explain how they came to be there and the remains are stored somewhere on the UNR campus. So, it is not just legend and speculation.
That is pertinent, but you’re also preaching to the choir. Around here it’s assumed knowledge that the red-haired giants were real, and speculated that a few of their descendants rule the earth.

That could well be. An alternative hypothesis could have the cro magnon descendants-as-Yamnaya driving the melonboons-as-Swiderians out of India and setting themselves up as Brahmin.
