NEET is not only a lifestyle but also a personality type. He is a product of genetics, having a low clustering of dopamine receptors, which makes him generally numb to the stimuli of his environment, causing him to become easily bored and disengage with it. This is the beginning of the NEET cycle.
1 -Become bored with the environment/world
2 -Disengage with it and do nothing
3 -Become depressed and try to do reengage with the environment/world to alleviate depression (loop back to phase 1)
The cycle intensifies effect with each subsequent loop, and therefore the longer one is stuck in it, the harder it is to break out of. Thus as time passes, the harder one will have to work to get back to his normal level of functioning. In severe cases, depression becomes so chronic that he may never recover and will spend the rest of his life in a state of virtual non-being. Becoming a catatonic NEET is something best avoided.
The key to avoid falling victim to this vicious cycle is first to raise your everyday baseline level of dopamine by implementing hacks. The hacks include:
Nofap (look up YBOP by Gary A. Wilson)
Listening to upbeat/motivational music
Spending more time in nature (the greener, the better)
Eating a healthy diet (keto is recommended for those of Northern Euro stock as their genes aren’t suited for processing plant matter)
Socialising with friends (must be woke, real, and share common interests)
Exercising (cardio is best for increasing goodfeelz and beating depression)
Engaging in non-escapist activities (dead-lifts and writing a book, not vidya marathons)
Using nootropics (nicotine is good but avoid tobacco and vapes)
After a few weeks, once you’ve built up your baseline dopamine to the point where you’re functional, motivated, and the fog has cleared from your head, you need to pick a goal (go back to school and become based-science-man, for instance) and — shoot for it! But before you do, you need the other two parts of MM’s magic formula: Momentum and Focus.
The basic idea of the energy, momentum, focus is to get energy first, then use that basis to enable momentum, then use that basis to enable focus. Having done that, you get to pick your One Thing because focus is the essence of victory in any battle. You won’t win every battle, or even all of the ones you want to win, or the war, but you can obtain the one point where you’re willing to put all of your energies. (And occasionally, as at Thermopylae, that one point can be the linchpin in an entire war.)
They are also placed in this order because energy is a prerequisite for momentum, and momentum is a prerequisite for focus. This is important, because pursuing them out of order can only produce disaster. You can think of this as analogous to Maslow’s hierarchy or the ERG theory, where energy is the reward for satisfying Existence needs, momentum is the reward for satisfying Relational needs, and focus is the reward for satisfying Growth needs.
Now that you have the formula and know how it works, it’s time to get the product: EPIC WINZ! That’s right, you now have the key to unlock the gate and go forth to become the greatest WINRAR! of your wildest dreams.
