From a glance, I think Jenova is basically original sin/knowledge of good and evil/Semantics/Parietal lobe. Look at the lower part of her body, it’s the Edenic apple. Sephiroth = Racially edenic in the literal sense.
Agree re: Sephiroth, Zach/Aerith, Tifa, Cloud. Shinra Power Co. is basically an aesthetic representation of modern societal structure/secular rationalism-worshipping beehive.

Jenova could also be a generalized representation of the human unconscious which according to Carl Jung manifests as the “anima”. Which I think might be what you saw when you smoked pot:

It’s an interesting theory, and this equivalence is certainly the metaphysics of Berserk (plz note spiral/behelit imagery). It wouldn’t be terribly surprising if FF7 and Kentaro Miura were drawing water from the same well.

I think I’m starting to see a cutie mark begin to form on my leg.
According to Jung’s theory, during interactions with the unconscious, underwater-level elements of our psyche (which traditionally occur during dreams/sleepstate, drug trips, trance-states, etc) the male’s unconscious personality-elements tend to appear as a female figure and the woman’s unconscious personality-elements tend to appear as a male.
This is why I think the long haired, blonde androgyne figure that you saw when you got stoned is a likely suspect, and is why I think Sephiroth was constantly going on about his “mother” (and why Jenova is a female figure).
It could all just be beings from the Outside playing tricks on us too, though.
