My young teenage self would seriously not have been an effective pilot unless NERV made some pretty significant revisions to the dress code for their female personnel. No more skintight body suits

I guess that confused sexual tension is probably a big theme of the show. It’s another one that I’ve never watched.
Also Asuka is best girl based on my scientific observations.
This is why the melonboon cannot rise to peak performance, represented in the ideal form of Misato-san.

^This actually isn’t even really an unreasonable demand. Don’t put me in a close-quarters ‘husband and wife’ situation with an affectionate, pretty girl, and expect me to perform a high-responsibility adult job at an elite level all the while denying me all the actual perks of adulthood.
I guess that’s also probably what the show is kind of about.
