The mortality rate as stated by WHO is 3.4%, not 0.3%.
Yep I did my phone math wrong last night, it’s around 10-11 mil (varying on whose reported mortality rate you go with) assuming 100.00% infection. Again–very ugly and not at all apocalyptic. I’m not trying to devalue people who die from disease or saying not to stock up on supplies or whatever, I’m just having a hard time getting too freaked out about it based on other “SUPER MEGA TERROR BUGS TERROR” the media has routinely and reliably hyped up over the past several years (especially given that it’s in their interest to gin up as much panic as as they can to denigrate le renegade megalomaniacal narcissist in chief’s presidency to the greatest extent possible during the election year)
