Exercise is supposed to make you more energetic, right?

(I was sold a bill of goods and I’d like to speak with a manager.)

A weird thing I’ve noticed about triathlon training is it’s made me not a morning person. This is how I wake up in the morning now:

But I haven’t become a night person either. I still lose the ability to form sentences after 9 PM unless I’ve prepared my body, mind, and soul with a nap. I’m now very strongly a “middle of the day” person. Between 10 am and 7 PM I’m an absolute madman, both a workhorse and Napoleon reborn. But only after I’ve had a pot of coffee and before dinner.

The other times, I’m either crawling around the floor like a dying man or sleeping like the already-dead.
