My attempt at a TL;DR summary. AP, correct me if I’m wrong:
3 stories are being told right now. The first 2 are wrong, the third is correct.
Histrionic: The right is performing a coup to save democracy and America (despite the fact that their radicals are weak, Trump is all talk and none of them have a plan)
Hypochondriac: America is sick and needs to get rid of the right in general and Trumpers specifically since they tried to stage a coup to steal power (despite the fact that you can’t gain legitimacy just by holding a building for a period of time)
Historical: Some protesters pulled the equivalent of a fraternity prank. What will really happen is that we’ll see more clearly that we’re in a one-party system and we’re all rubes. If the left is in power, they’ll recruit their own (controlled) opposition and vice-versa for the right. Meanwhile oligarchs pull the strings of whoever happens to be in power

Good summary, then at the end there’s a bit about how this represents a shift from anarchotyranny to regular tyranny, which will create the conditions for a proper revolution (i.e. regular tyranny doesn’t even pretend to be cool). Oh, and I think the most important takeaway of the article is that adherents of each of the three narratives consider adherents of both other narratives dangerously insane.

Nice spin on the intro. Kudos for the daring synthesis with the ”current year” reference but what truly won me over was one other little word: ”crazy”. A refreshing self reference to the iconic ”moldbug” right at the begining. This immediately captures the reader’s attention and never lets go much unlike a certain series of books. Pleasant surprise that really elevates the whole of what I consider to be the best and most satisfying reading experiece in this entire thread. Honourable mention to the subversion of expectetions, which by the way happened not once, not twice, but thrice! First you acknowledge the so called shitpost implying that you yourself adhere to what it represents. You also lead your readers to believe that the shitpost in mention is the well known opinionated piece that you yourself give a personal spin unto. Subverted once are we, the readers, as we delightfully find out that you were actually referencing to the ”deh” brach of Harry Potter related shitposting. But then you move on to call the movie series ”well crafted”! Consider my expectations subverted yet again. A statement so radical and opposed to it’s context that I’m sure it has ruffled some feathers in certain circles. The third subversion comes when by continuing to read we realise that the ”well crafted” line was actually ironic. How playful and creative of you! While the aforementioned subversion was noticeably weaker than the other two I do strongly believe and I stand by my opinion that it rightfully is weak so as to give the audience some mental space, a relief if you will, in order to recuperate and prepare for the ultimate climax tha is the ”No!” part. Once again I will have to congratulate you and this time I will use the only word that is appropriate: BRAVO!

Moldbug’s “technical” analysis of the broader situation facing the right (which should really just be called “the moral”) and the uniparty (whose clueless, increasingly dwindling, increasingly cogdis-suffering outer party members believe to be “left wing justice fighters”) is spot on but overall falls short because it doesn’t take into acct the spiritual nature of the conflict
