*This one is hard. Whatever the choice is, it has to display the following elements: stress tolerance, modern absurdist ironic humor (ref: forehead), civilizational decline and approaching apocalypse (ancient civilization -> decline -> ITZ), and individualism with grudging alliances and sudden, painful breakups.
**Alt: The Odyssey, Homer.
***For females: The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins

    Paradise Lost – John Milton?

  2. bicebicebice says:

“Is your significant other a TT? Buy it(z) this book!”

Freud would be jealous of Edenistic marketing skills.

    Do Dune! :D

  4. Ahlokzendk says:

    Does CC refer to ‘Eyzeds’?
How is this distinct from Homo Sapiens?

Unless you have a short, broad face(FWHR of at least 2.0 with flesh) hafted to an extremely long, high cranium with a narrow cranial base and wide parietals, a narrow minimum frontal breath and a wide maximum frontal breadth, marked lambdoidal flattening with a compressed occipital…

  5. Wog Slayer says:

Cro-magnons did not have compressed occipitals. Their occipitals were often more pronounced then neanderthals. Especially in the flesh.
    This for example:

While the les eyzies skull does lack a prominent occiptial, it does have some mass at the end [more than many moderns].

    • Ahlokzendhki says:

My description applies only to the Les Eyzies skull. It does indeed have more lambdoidal flattening than most moderns either ancestral or extant, with a compressed occipital.
My point is that Cro Magnon is defined by a very specific set of traits, the most important being very high cranial capacity and craniofacial disharmony, which are not typical of any extant populations.
The term should be reserved for instances of extreme CM likeness and/or very large-brained, robust ‘Sapiens’ displaying significant CM influence.

  6. Wog Slayer says:

Hey, I am wondering who would be for H.P Lovecraft?

    • Aeoli Pera says:

Lovecraft himself is actually the proto-example for a trait I call the “aspiepath chin”, which turns out to have a name in normie circles: Habsburg jaw. Psychological correlates are 1) extremely developed inner fantasy worlds, often bizarre, 2) intellectualism and fascination with science as an unfolding drama, 3) dark tetrad traits (particularly psychopathy and sadism).

I wouldn’t be surprised if, in conversation, such a person launched into a detailed description of various medieval torture devices, and apocryphal histories involving them.

Obviously this trait isn’t required to enjoy his output, but he represents the trait very well.

  7. Mmmm… my reading taste is very melon/semi-ironically cromagnon thus proving beyond doubt that I am an asshole. Ideally I like Burroughs or in terms of action books with a genuine protagonist this one floats my boat: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17446421-madame-einzige Paladin of Shadows is too gay tbh.

  8. kensuimo says:

Nitpick: Card is SS. Ender’s Game is still enjoyable for TMs, but themes of cross-species mercy/tolerance post-near-genocide, along with astral projection metaphors and implausibly sweeping political consensus is starchild.

Read the three sequels if you want more proof. More interspecies tolerance, splitting of the self in three, reality bending, memory reconstruing, and a (not very) pithy value weaving lecture to the reader every chapter.

    • Aeoli Pera says:

I’ve read the sequels. John C. Wright is MT but the book here is extremely Amud TT, even moreso than Lord of the Rings. John Ringo looks like a flabby Moldbug. My point here is that truly creative people often produce perspectives other than their own via counterfactual simulation.
