I got this score on the 800-dash challenge in Hyper Light Drifter:
After 30 minutes of frustration trying to find the right metronome speed I did some Googling. Somebody recommended using this song:
I got that score of 1430 on the first try while listening to it. Apparently the world record is 2400 and I have half a mind to beat that. The only problem is I hate mashups, J-pop, rap, and people who post those X-hour videos.
*Tricks you into giving me your login info for a pot of red stew*
Lol, too soon man, too soon.
>I hate mashups
Sad!
OT:
“CBS News caught using footage of an overwhelmed Italian hospital in coronavirus coverage about NYC ” (https://www.theblaze.com/news/cbs-news-footage-italy-hospital-nyc)
Empty hospitals and hospital entrances in america:
Coronavirus has killed around 4700 Americans over its entire course–but about 7400 people die in America every day.
I know you’re trying to be reasonable, but in order to reason with Fox on this subject you need to know he doesn’t believe in viruses. He’s coming at this question from a very different set of assumptions about the natural world than you.
@aeoli everyone who isn’t a half-wit thinks on multiple levels. There’s my level, then there’s the level in which viruses are real but aren’t pathogens, and there’s the level in which viruses are real and are also pathogens.
The sources on which I base my assessment of the current pan[ic]demic all work on the latter level.
@Obadiah I get what you’re saying, but the media framed it as PLAGUE APOCALYPSE, and that’s in stark contrast to the pictures.
Further: Those 4700 are people who died with a positive test result.
– test hasn’t been validated, but was made to be sensitive to SARS-like viruses prevalent in bats (and no one, as far as I’m aware, researched whether these viruses occur regularly in healthy, sick or very sick people – or not).
– average age of people dying with a positive test result is 79 in italy, and the mean age in germany is 83. Similar pattern in switzerland and norway.
– in italy, 98% of them had at least one chronic illness, and 50% had three (!) or more (median 2,7 chronic illnesses!). Most german cases also had prior illnesses.
To sum up, the media and govs deliberately confuse dying “with” the virus with dying “of” the virus and having a positive test result with having this particular virus.
(This article gives a relative good overview over several issues with the numbers: https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/how-to-understand-and-report-figures-for-covid-19-deaths-)
>everyone who isn’t a half-wit thinks on multiple levels.
I wasn’t criticizing you there, and I believe Obadiah would prefer to know you’re comprehending Coronavirus through a radically unusual theory of reality.
“you’re comprehending Coronavirus through a radically unusual theory of reality.”
No.
I usually engage things on multiple levels, but in this case, since the sources I use believe in both viruses and pathogen theory, I (mostly) engage the topic on that particular level.
It’s not possible for a person who believes pathogens are spiritual egregores to read the imperial college report and engage with it the same way as a material reductionist.
“engage with it the same way as a material reductionist.”
It is not just possible but not even difficult, bc the levels are not contradictory but linked in a certain way.
Imagine a materialist reading old koanic blog posts, disliking the anthropological/psychological conclusions koanic draws, and then dismissing all the latter says on anthro/psycho bc he found the post about travellers or manifestation – you’re doing the same thing now.

https://www.unz.com/isteve/mean-age-of-nyt-coronavirus-obituaries-is-66/
“The NYT is running obituaries of celebrities who have died of coronavirus, with 28 so far. The average age thus far has been 66, which seems somewhat younger than the average age of NYT obituaries for other other causes. For comparison, I took the average of the first 28 obituaries I found for March 2019 and they averaged 82, or 16 years longer.”
28 CELEBRITY cases from the city of vices against:
– over 700 from germany (median 82 years)
– over 10,000 from italy (mean 78 (median 79) years)
– 20 in norway (mean 84 years)
– almost 300 in switzerland (median 82 years)
– 18 from minnesota (median 83 years)

Yeah I’m saying that the entire media reaction and whatnot are overblown given the virus’s relatively unremarkable numbers over the span of time it’s been active.
